Jean, what do you mean by "set the focus on DOS"? One problem I am having in using IT in this MARS II program is that when I enter text into IT, name it as I do with the first couple of letters with the physician's name (i.e., dbctchest), when I try to expand the entry, I get a "^W" and my entry does not expand. I was thinking maybe there is a conflict in naming the expansion with the physician's initials since those intials are probably recognized by this system, so I created in IT the expansion in a glossary created just for the doc so I didn't have to name the expansion with his initials, but again, IT expansion would not expand and I would get the ^W error (really disappearance of my expansion). At any rate, I just only do a few lines for any expansion for this hospital, and that seems to work, but I cannot put in a complete procedure and have it expand it seems.

But, the upside is that my line count keeps improving even if IT for this particular system is limited by only a couple of lines, and for that I am thankful. I'm told that the corporation is looking to updating to a Windows-based program, but that it is not high on the list of priorities...maybe in a "couple of years." I should live so long. :)

If you could explain the "focus on DOS" so I could understand that, then I would try the Alt space E P to see if that would work after I had typed the expansion in Word.

Thanks always for your guidance and expertise.
