Thanks very much for the Windows-F6 trick! That's perfect.

My slides use a similar idea to what you describe, but a bit more compactly:

"Red" is: <f2><wait>100</wait>ff<tab><down><down><right><enter><wait>800</wait><windows key><f6>
The "ff" is selecting menu items _F_ormat -> _F_ont. The wait of 800 may vary with your PDA; the value of 800 was what I needed.

"Blue" is exactly the same, just with more presses of "down":
<f2><wait>100</wait>ff<tab><down><down><down><down><down><right><enter><wait>800</wait><windows key><f6>

Incidentally, I've found when creating compound slides which do operations after setting the font colour that I've needed another <wait>100</wait> after the Windows-F6 OK button before Word will reliably receive subsequent keystrokes.
