not uninstalling

for some reason my computer will not let me delete office 2007. I've tried everything to uninstall it and it's still there. I even used the microsoft support article and it's still there. And I still can't find the path for the normal.dot. I've done the search for normal.dot with the date and it doesn't find anything. I'm about ready to throw this computer out the window. I can't understand what the problem is.
