Instant Text Revision 302
Dear Instant Text Users I am pleased to announce the availability of Revision 302 of Instant Text III. It comes in two forms:
DOING THE REVISION You will find both revisions on the Textware Solutions web site at the url: http://www.twsolutions.com/demo/demo.htm Select the proper file and download it. After downloading it, just run Rev302S.exe or Rev302P.exe (whichever is applicable) and it will automatically find the files to be revised and update them. (If you mistakenly try to apply the wrong one, it will protest and nothing will be broken.) To be sure that the revision has been applied, you can check the build date in Help/About Instant Text and it should now be 98-11-15. WHAT THE REVISION DOES Error Corrections. Revision 302 includes the error corrections of the prior Revision 301 and also the resolution of a problem reported more recently that could happen when a very long word was in the glossary and was nevertheless typed in full. (Apparently the error had existed since version 2 and had never been reported before - a clear indication that good usage was made of abbreviation expansion! With this correction, we are back to the state of ZERO known problems. ) New Client Applications Two new client applications are now recognized by the Pro:
Speed Improvements One of the consequences of handling Meditech is that it led us to do significant speed improvements which apply to both the Standard and the Pro version. You may not see much difference if you are using Word 97 on a fast machine but if you are using WordPerfect 6.1 on a slower machine, the effect should be quite noticeable: expansion should be done with much less cursor movement. THE INSTANT TEXT FORUM I am taking advantage of this message to welcome you to this newly created Instant Text forum. The intent of this forum is to allow an easy exchange of questions, tips, techniques, and other topics concerning Instant Text. It should definitely be a place for suggestions and for discussing the pros and cons of various approaches. The forum is no subsitute for an active support line. So as before, if you need any help, do not hesitate to send an email to support@twsolutions.com or to call our support line. These two methods will remain the preferred way for fast service.
