Many thanks for the revision - definitely an improvement! I had previously been rather confused about exactly how IT "decided" on its word ordering in the advisory. Obviously the best functionality, for the user, is whatever gets their intended word into the box as high up the order as possible. There must be several different sets of rules you could apply to determine this ordering (perhaps you could, in future, even extend the program so that the user can choose between various alternative rule-sets?). With this in mind, had you considered (for the very long-term future) extending the program's use of Frequency data in the glossaries, as follows: Might it be possible to order phrases (or words) in the Advisories by the frequency with which they were selected by the user? This would involve keeping some kind of dynamicaly-updating "probability" data for each word/phrase in the glossary... and hence would be a major extension of the program's functionality. (Dragon Dictate seems to manage it somehow: saying "cheese" once greatly increases the probability that it will be displayed in the set of word options again.) Maybe you've already ruled out such a system - I'd just be interested to know. Thanks again, --modified at Sat, Apr 17, 1999, 12:12:54
