Why is Autoshift not working?

The "shift arrow" is visible from time to time, but the Autoshift does not work.

AutoShift was used in Fitaly 1 and it was a permanent source of conflict with hacks that interact with the shift state. When sliding was introduced, a consensus ermerged for the fact that this is a better solution. So autoshift was removed.
